SupplyWorks Announces Worldwide Agreement with Ingersoll-Rand

Diversified Industrial Firm to use SupplyWorks MAX to Improve Procurement and Replenishment Processes and Reduce Materials Costs

BEDFORD, Mass, 12/06/04 — SupplyWorks, Inc., the leader in on-demand procurement and replenishment solutions for manufacturers, today announced that Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited, a leading diversified industrial firm, has signed an agreement for SupplyWorks’ on-demand service, SupplyWorks MAX. Under the agreement, Ingersoll-Rand can deploy SupplyWorks MAX at any of its roughly 100 facilities around the world. For the past three years, Ingersoll-Rand has employed SupplyWorks MAX at its Bridgeton, MO facility under a separate agreement.

SupplyWorks MAX is designed to optimize the flow of parts and materials and help manufacturers manage their relationships with key suppliers, promoting greater flexibility, responsiveness and cost efficiencies. Ingersoll-Rand will employ SupplyWorks MAX for ordering, expediting, rescheduling and transporting parts supplied by its outsourced partners. In addition, SupplyWorks will integrate SupplyWorks MAX with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other systems installed at selected Ingersoll-Rand locations.

"Under this new agreement, we look forward to employing SupplyWorks MAX to help us reduce raw materials inventory levels, promoting our Operational Excellence goals," said Duane Weeks, vice president of Supply Chain for Ingersoll-Rand. "We also expect SupplyWorks MAX will help us to improve supplier utilization, streamline our procurement and replenishment processes, and lower our logistics costs, resulting in a lower total cost of direct materials."

"Having proved our capabilities over our three-year relationship with Ingersoll-Rand, we are gratified to have our efforts rewarded with this global agreement," said Dave Wangler, president and CEO of SupplyWorks. "We are confident that we can bring the same benefits that we have demonstrated during the past several years for Ingersoll-Rand and other leading manufacturers to different Ingersoll-Rand business units in the form of lower inventory levels and shorter supplier lead times, and by leveraging the savings inherent in Ingersoll-Rand's corporate strategic sourcing agreements."

The SupplyWorks solution is also expected to help Ingersoll-Rand deploy diverse replenishment methods, enabling participating facilities to develop an optimized "plan for every part." In addition, the increased participation and collaboration by suppliers is expected to improve supplier performance and help suppliers lower their costs.
