ImagePoint Completes Enterprise-Wide Implementation of SupplyWorks® MAX™ Across Four Locations SupplyWorks MAX Streamlines Purchasing Systems and Delivers Multi-Plant Visibility; Solution is on Track to Reduce ImagePoint's Direct Materials Spend by 10% BEDFORD, Mass, 5/19/03 SupplyWorks, Inc., the leader in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) solutions for discrete manufacturers, today announced that it has successfully completed the installation of SupplyWorks MAX™ Web-based SRM software at four ImagePoint, Inc. locations. Over 500 suppliers are now using SupplyWorks MAX to receive purchase orders from ImagePoint's purchasing agents. By automating purchase orders and delivering multi-plant visibility, SupplyWorks MAX is on track to save ImagePoint 10 percent in direct materials spend this year. Based in Knoxville, Tenn., ImagePoint is the country's largest manufacturer of signage and retail identity solutions for companies such as McDonald's, Burger King, Ford, General Motors, Bank One and YUM! Brands (KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, etc.). ImagePoint has installed SupplyWorks MAX at its headquarters in Knoxville, TN, and at its plants located in Columbia, SC, Cincinnati, OH and Ontario, CA. ImagePoint completed the installation of SupplyWorks MAX at its first plant in November of 2002, and is on track to fully automate 25 percent of its purchasing transactions, enabling their buyers to focus on cost reductions. ImagePoint's production buyers and planners are now using SupplyWorks MAX to coordinate purchases and inventory across multiple locations, and to maximize the efficiency of direct materials usage to further improve cycle times and internal scheduling accuracy. Through spending their time managing the supply rather than expediting replenishment, ImagePoint's purchase agents are increasing the percentage of time spent reviewing contracts, consolidating items and vendor master, and negotiating win-win relationships. "Through automating our purchase orders, SupplyWorks MAX will enable our purchasing agents to spend much more of their time on more critical purchasing activities," said Steve Hammond, ImagePoint's VP, Information Services. "Our agents will be able to dedicate their time to communicating with suppliers to negotiate rates and cost reductions, and to reduce lead times so we can carry a lower level of inventory. SupplyWorks' emphasis on exception-based management enables ImagePoint's buyers to focus on being true supply managers." SupplyWorks MAX is a comprehensive SRM solution that includes multi-mode supply chain execution, extensive supplier collaboration facilities and advanced tools for supply management. ImagePoint is on track to save 10 percent in direct materials spend through using SupplyWorks to enhance its operational efficiency, improve manufacturing responsiveness and flexibility, and more easily manage future growth across multiple plants. "SupplyWorks is fulfilling ImagePoint's initial goal for this project-to enable the company's purchasing agents to focus their time to improving their relationships with suppliers and reducing costs," said Jeff Herrmann, president and CEO of SupplyWorks, Inc. "Now that SupplyWorks MAX is live at four ImagePoint locations, we expect the company to experience even greater savings as they use multi-plant visibility to consolidate purchases across multiple locations. At SupplyWorks, we will continue to focus our attention on developing affordable supply chain solutions that enable manufacturers to cut costs and achieve a rapid return on their investment."
