SupplyWorks MAX 3.0 provides significant new levels of functionality in the areas of material planning collaboration, logistics services and vendor managed inventory. "Manufacturers can gain early benefits and competitive advantage from working with a focused vendor such as SupplyWorks, that can offer functionality on a hosted basis for speed of implementation, and at an attractive price point," said Michael Burkett, a research director at AMR Research. (Source: Michael Burkett, The AMR Alert: SupplyWorks MAX Enhances Hosted SRM Services for Discrete Manufacturers, September 3, 2002). SupplyWorks MAX 3.0 includes a configurable rules engine that optimizes material plan collaboration. Optimized plans provide manufacturers and their suppliers with more accurate real-time views of production requirements and aligns supplier shipments more closely to a plant's needs, thereby cutting inventories. New logistics capabilities enable manufacturers to integrate SupplyWorks MAX 3.0 with third-party logistics (3PL) provider systems, which streamlines transportation and provides real-time visibility into incoming inventory, lowers costs and minimizes expedites and shortages. SupplyWorks MAX 3.0 empowers suppliers with more tools, such as authorization for material releases, generation of bar codes, and creation of advance ship notices. Enhanced VMI "SupplyWorks MAX 3.0 continues to enhance supplier relationship management with new collaboration functionality, new levels of inventory visibility and supply chain synchronization, and greater VMI capabilities for supply execution," said Jeff Herrmann, president and CEO of SupplyWorks. "SupplyWorks MAX 3.0 enables our customers to further improve their management of supplier relationships through more efficient inventory management and greater cost savings." SupplyWorks MAX 3.0 is available immediately and has already been deployed at established SupplyWorks customers in the high-tech, automotive and industrial sectors, including Ingersoll-Rand and BorgWarner Morse TEC.
